Anne and Tobias’s Honeymoon Photographs in San Francisco

Anne and Tobias are honeymooning in San Francisco and Tobias’s cousin hired me for a photo session as a wedding present (such a great idea BTW).  Little did I know this would turn into an adventure.  I met them at their hotel and we talked about the various San Francisco options.  Turns out they wanted to do an engagement style session so they were dressed up and looking good.  The sun was just breaking through the morning fog so we decided to head out to Crissy Field and the Golden Gate Bridge.  We stopped about half way down Crissy Field when we say the bridge just peaking through the fog. We got a couple nice shots and then headed back to the car to move closer to the bridge.  But Arg!! I left the hazard lights on and the battery died.  Plus it died so much that the car wouldn’t even start when we hailed down someone for a jump.  I was freaking out of course but they were super cool about it all and and we did all we could do – walk to the bridge and take more photos.  And in another twist of fate, we ended up getting access to a pier and a building along the bay that I’ve never seen open.  We had fun and Tobias and Anne were just the awesome couple. They were even smiling when they were getting on a bus to go back to the hotel (and yes I did offer to pay for a cab but they wanted to ride the bus).

Anne and Tobias – my apologies for letting the car die but in the end I think it work out way better than expected. Best wishes with your new life together and have a great honeymoon.

P.S  in the strangest of all – I walked back to my car and it started on the first try.  Very spooky.

  1. Wonderful shots, Joey! I’m a sucker for anything shot through windows. :-) Glad to see that despite all the epic failures, the images still came out fantastic!!

    Dear Joey,

thank you again so much for the wonderful pictures and for taking all the stress! however everything turned out perfectly, I knew it from the start :-) Also the black/white images are just great and they all look as if the two were out to a party all night long and relax now by the sea, which is kind of true. I am so happy that with this present Anne&Tobi now can not only enjoy these wonderful images but also really cool memories. Thanks again! I am looking forward to meeting you myself and will tell the people I know. Let’s stay in touch. Simone

Nice framing on so many of these!!!

  5. Real nice job capturing the couple. My favorite shot is the one with them reflected in the window pane…very creative!

I would say you did an excellent job – even if the car died. Some very cool locations for this shoot – I like how the fog partially obscures the golden gate bridge. Very typical SF weather :)

  9. Lovely couple, you’ve given them such great memories. I particularly love the silohette against that cool window.

  10. I love that shot with the reflection in the window. I had to look at it a couple of times before I realised they were actually outside. Nicely seen and captured, very cool.

  11. Cute couple. Love that first shot. The fog makes it extra awesome.

  12. Heather says:

What a gorgeous couple!! I love the shot of them sitting on the log. Well done!

    Dear Joey,

the honeymooners returned to Germany! We really had a beautiful journey at the westcoast of US. But the first we did, when we returned was to watch the DVD you left in our hotel. We were really excited. And the pictures we saw were great. One is better then the other, you really gave us such great memories. All of them are different to each other because of the variaty of options and places you chose. And the car story is one story more we can tell our friends when we talk about our photoshooting in San Francisco, an adventure. Not for you, but for us :-) ) . The bus ride back to our hotel was great, because we had the chance to walk through the marina again, a nice place to be. Thanks again for such an unforgettable day.
