One of my favorite clients asked me to make a donation for the St. James Preschool Gala and Auction.  I knew I could donate a discounted family photography session but I wanted to do something else as well.  My client asked me if I could donate a print from one of my sunrise photographs which I had never considered.  My business is family and wedding photography but one of my loves is sunrise photography especially in the Bay Area.  I love going out in the  pre-dawn dark to photograph the Golden Gate Bridge, the Bay Bridge, Coit Tower and other San Francisco and Bay Area Landscapes.  I’ve always done this for fun and never really thought of selling the work.  But we talked for a bit and came up with a pretty cool donation idea.  I will donate a Box of 5×7 cards with one of my sunrise images and personalized lesson to teach the winner how I take go about making the photos that I do.  He/She will get to join me for a morning shoot and we’ll talk about composition, gear, timing and weather – all the things that contribute to great sunrise photographs.  I thought that was a cool idea and am excited to see how it does at the auction in May.

And I could use your help.  Please vote on your favorite from the Golden Gate sunrise photographs.  I’ll use the top vote getter as the image for the box of cards.   Voting will close on 4/1/11.
