Bringing people together and giving them a chance to connect in different ways is something I love doing. It’s part of the reason that I started the Adventure Family Sessions. But I also organize events and groups where families and people connect, learn from each other and build community.
- San Francisco Smugmug Group – Largest ongoing gathering of professional and enthusiast photographers in San Francisco. We meet monthly to hear amazing speakers on a range of photography topics. If you want to learn anything photography related, please come.
- Help Portrait – I’ve organized Help Portrait events in the Bay Area for three years. The premise is simple and powerful – we find people in need, take their picture and give them a professional print. In 2011, we had over 200 photographers in 5 non-profits and community centers around the bay. We provided prints for over 1200 people for the holidays. Such an amazing experience and we would love your help if you are interested.
- Play Date and Potlucks – To connect with other families and break up the week, I started a weekly play date and potluck in San Rafael. We gather every thursday at the Sun Valley Park and bring a dish or two. Kids play, parents relax and everyone has a great time. We started with a couple families and now our group has almost fifty families. You are welcome to join us any week.
